Summary
Eva Cardon is a self-confident businesswoman who, at the young age of 24, owns one of Washington, DC's most famous Black-owned restaurants. Life is good for Eva and her family until New Year's Eve when her path crosses with the handsome white senator from Georgia, Courtland Kingsley IV. Despite knowing the danger, both Eva and Courtland find themselves drawn to one another. But the complexities of trying to maintain a relationship when one person is a Black woman and the other is a white man from the South begin to unravel their unlikely union before it even has the opportunity to flourish. Eva and Courtland find themselves pulled in directions they never could have anticipated, and their ill-fated romance holds both the threat and the promise of changing their lives forever
