"LeRoy Wiley Gresham of Macon, Georgia kept a series of seven journals between 1860 and 1865 that documents the entirety of the Civil War. Starting at the age of 12, his writing covers not only the changes in Macon, but the socio-economic impact of the conflict on his wealthy family, which owns two plantations about 40 miles southeast of Macon.
