Es claramente un álbum donde la ilustración, junto al texto, crean un clima que nos mantendrá en suspenso durante toda la lectura. La figura encorvada del lobo es misteriosa e inquietante. Destaca su tamaño dentro del espacio de la casa, dando la impresión de que si se para derecho se sale del formato del libro. Sus ojos a medio cerrar nos hacen pensar que mira de reojo como si tuviera en su mente otra idea además de preparar la sopa. El formato grande del libro permite generar amplios espacios donde contrastael exterior sombrío y oscuro y el interior brillante y luminoso.
