Summary
Why is interprofessional education necessary in the health care practices? Interprofessional care is being considered one of the solutions to address the health human resource shortages faced in many countries. In order for health care providers to practice in an interprofessional manner, they need to know "how" to collaborate. The Centre for Interprofessional Education (IPE) at the University of Toronto is pleased to release multi-media tools that are aimed to educate health care providers about interprofessional care. Trigger scenes, PowerPoint presentations, reference materials, documentary films and patient narratives are all included in a series of programs. Each tool offers a substantial conversational and visual aid to spearhead an educational discussion. Geared to be used in a variety of teaching settings, any health care provider, at any time of his or her career, will benefit. This program presents video clip examples that can be used within the primary care setting to assist in teaching students from different disciplines who may be working together in primary care
