Summary
In THE TERROR, the incomparable Jack Nicholson (in one of his earliest leading roles) plays Lt. Duvalier, a soldier in Napoleon's army. After separating from the rest of his unit and becoming lost, he catches sight of Helene, a beautiful woman walking alone along the Baltic Sea.. He follows her to a castle where he is introduced to Baron Von Leppe (played by horror icon, Boris Karloff), who appears to dabble in witchcraft and the dark arts. Upon this discovery, Lt. Duvalier sets out to rescue Helene -- but he soon finds out that she has some dark secrets of her own.... "...It's a treat to watch the great Karloff and a baby-faced Nicholson square off, and the story packs a couple of nice surprises." - Matt Brunson, Creative Loafing. "Scene by scene, it's a delightful Ovidian creature." - Fernando F. Croce, CinePassion
