Summary
James Rosenquist (1933-2017) was an influential American Pop artist, best known for his collage paintings, such as F-111 and President Elect. The artist used his commercial background to create surrealist works that helped define the Pop art movement. The film follows the life and career of James Rosenquist, with commentary from Ann Temkin (Mare Josée and Henry Kravis Chief Curator of Painting and Sculpture, Museum of Modern Art, NY), Sarah Bancroft (Executive Director, James Rosenquist Foundation), Mimi Thompson Rosenquist (Director, James Rosenquist Estate), Michael Findlay (Director, Acquavella Galleries), Judith Goldman (Writer and Curator), Ruth Fine (curator), John Rosenquist, and Lily Rosenquist. The film also features Jim's perspective of his life and career as he walks through his 2012 exhibition "Multiverse You Are, I Am" at Acquavella Galleries
