"BIRDMAN OF ALCATRAZ," director John Frankenheimer's biographical drama, stars Burt Lancaster as Robert Stroud who, as the film begins, is incarcerated at Leavenworth Prison for murder, a sentence that will eventually lead him to Alcatraz.
